I'm assuming it's still on

I'm finally starting to branch away from all those mix n' mash ups I've been playing obsessively since the weekend. That's good. I was becoming a little alarmed. It's weird, in general, how two songs that on their own I don't like or even actively dislike suddenly become entertaining and catchy when combined. It's less surprising, though, that I'd go on such a bender with 'em. I tend to do that with music. Around this time last year it was a lot of indie. I had a much higher tolerance then than I do now, I've found. it was black metal for a long time and doomy doomy doom doom stoner sludge for even longer. Actually I reckon it's pretty much always that at least some of the time.

Hoven Droven's "Brekken" was the good dose of balls-out metal with an organ and a fiddle that helped clear that lot out. it's also the song that made me seriously consider giving myself a Nordic concept when I was wrestling lucha libre, just so I could have that as my theme/entrance music.

Blind Gary Davis is a badass. Officially.

I'm making and mixing a lot of drum beats. A lot. and I'm enjoying them more than I thought I would, what with me not being in general a huge fan of phoney drums and in fact tending to be biased to the extent that I most often think the real deal sounds better. these work, though.
