New semester... new president! Also my last semester as an undergrad, which is thrilling. And horrifying. Mostly thrilling. Well, it's about fifty-fifty, really. But I love this part of the semester- I just bought all of my books and I am looking over them, excited for my Irish-Gothic lit. class, not knowing what horrors Laura Eldred has in store for me this semester. :D I'm also taking Lit. Arts Magazine Publishing, my first publishing class, so I'm super excited about learning the biz. We're taking a trip up to Manhattan to meet and greet with editors of "some top notch magazines as well as visiting some local venues for publishing", says the prof. Interesting. Yeah, I'm pretty excited. I'm also ready to get started on my internship, which seems like it's going to be a lot of fun. Christine and Ho-Thanh (the founder of the organization) keep mentioning eating great food. :D If anything, I'm really excited to try a ton of different culture's cuisines, hee.
I'm going to see Boy in the Striped Pajamas tonight. I don't even know anything about it... hopefully it is good. Also, I was sort of disappointed by Slumdog Millionaire. I won't go into detail, in case anyone wants to see it, but overall, pretty good- not fantastic.
Back to watching the inauguration... dude, I freaking love Obama's kids. How ridiculously cute are they? And I really want to ask Obama re:the economy, "Can we fix it!?" and him reply, "Yes we can!" a la Bob the Builder. And he really ought be wearing a tool belt and a hard hat during the exchange. XD
