well, these are my celebrity crushes. a few, at least. and contrary to popular belief, there is no particular order. sam already put a few of my loves, so i'll pick some different ones to be more interesting.
1)
Caleb Followill
i'm not sure what it is about this man. when i first heard kings of leon, i had no idea what they looked like, apart from the weird silhouettey drawing on the cover of "youth and young manhood." as i listened to them more and more, i fell in love with them beyond all compare and was particularly taken with caleb's very interesting and wondrous voice. i have never looked back. this man is more beautiful than i could ever hope possible. and the other kings are fine too.
2)
Roman Polanski
the first time i saw roman polanski was in chinatown when i was in eighth grade. i don't really recall having any epiphany about his beauty. i just remember being very struck by his excellent filmmaking. now, as i see more and more of him, both as an actor and a director, i discover that i have fallen quite hard. this man is a beauty. even if he can't come back to the united states.
3)
Ryan Adams
ryan adams is the perfect man. he likes eggs. he is beautiful. he sings. he writes. he plays the guitar. he likes eggs. need i say more?
4)
Jean-Pierre Leaud
words cannot express how much i love this man. i feel like whenever i see him, i am magnetically drawn to him and can't look away. he has appeared in many of my favorite films, including the first i saw him in: stolen kisses. he's french, beautiful, and shy. what more can a girl ask for?
5)
David Byrne
for me, being smart is one of the things that most attracts me to people. david byrne definitely fits this bill. he is intelligent, funny, attractive, and the head of one of my favorite bands.
6)
Woody Allen
in the same vein, i am extraordinarily attracted to woody allen. he is witty, hilarious, smart, neurotic, and attractive. i often think that woody allen is my ideal man, as so many of the people i have liked are very much like him. plus, he wears glasses.
7)
Mike Skinner
mike skinner is the man, no question about it. i would marry this man "quick-snap."
8)
George Emerson and Freddy Honeychurch
ok, so i'm cheating. but they're both from the same movie/book, and i can't pick which one i like better. both of these men are perfection, as is "a room with a view," one of the most wonderful and romantic films ever produced. plus, they both boast fantastic hair.
9)
Weird Al Yankovic
i. love. weird al. he's just so weird. and wonderful. the first song i ever heard by him was "ricky" when i was having an "i love lucy" birthday party in fourth grade. it was pretty much love at first sight, and i'm happy to say, this love has stayed with me to this very day.
10)
Gary Oldman
the first time i saw this man was as beethoven in "immortal beloved." i had no idea who he was, but i knew i was in love. i can't think of many actors who have his passion and presence and he makes even the worst movies tolerable.
