I thought it was only 45 left...? 50 states, and the District of Columbia; MA, CT, IA, VT, and ME have given the a-okay, and the DC is headed to the mayor and then to congress. Is my math wrong?
No, you're totally right! I forgot about VT, and was just wondering whether I should count the states that recognize gay marriages from other states but don't grant them. It's just NY in that boat for now, right?

As far as I know (and could establish with a little cursory searching), just NY recognizes marriages from other states; hopefully, we'll soon be able to add DC to that column (not "the DC", as I typed...honestly, Sharon?! I had been going for "the District of Columbia"). The wind's at our backs, it seems!
