I haven't posted in a long while so here goes
Today at work i couldn't help feeling that i was on the checkout lane from hell. My lamp signaling that i'm open was burned out. Saying "Yes, i'm open, and yes, i know the light's out. Its because its burned out." after 5 customers got very annoying. Doing it for 5 hours today made me want to scream. Management doesnt' seem to be able to fix this as it has been at least 2 weeks since a different lane's light hasn't been working. I don't expect this to be any different. Moving on, my keyboard keypad had a sticky 1 key and a sticky 0 key... and when nearly every code you type in contains either of those, it gets more frustrating when you have to bang on it with your fingertips. And yes, my fingers hurt after work today. Next, the debit processor just won't swipe without the use of a plastic bag. (For those not familiar, in canada and perhaps other places, people can pay directly from their bank account like a check, but this is a plastic card.. a password is required to be typed into a terminal so funds go directly from your bank to the grocery store's account.
So thats the checkout lane from hell - technologically. The people seemed nice, but they got irritating too since everything else had put me in a sour mood.
Its bloody hot today reaching 41 C (about 105F) with humidity. wasn't outside longer than it took to drive to and from work today and enjoyed the day down in the basement with a few beers.
