i watched the video and thought, surely he isn't really... going... to...oh holy hell, the fucker just threw a live frog into boiling water on television.

that reaction is what clinched it for me. the idiot truly had no fucking clue what would happen if he threw a frog into boiling water.

Well, they could easily claim it's misdirection (like they do in magic). They did cut away. We don't know what he actually had in his hands due to the cut. And I'll bet Fox claims something like that, that it only SEEMED like he was doing boiling water. We also only KNOW it was boiling water by him SAYING it was. It could all simply be a ruse and have been regular water to get people riled up and looking at it. My guess is the latter.

you can see the steam rising out of the pot. having used dried ice i know the difference in what the effect looks like and am pretty confident that is actually boiling water.

as for the sleight of hand, possible. however, given the look on his face i am not convinced.

There's also a way of using an ultrasonic device, they have them at Column One (inexpensive too), though it is more like fog than steam.

And yeah, I don't think he'd be that good of an actor. But just sayin', having worked magic and seen editing magic before -- what you see isn't always what's real. Still, given it's FOX, they probably really DID throw the poor froggie in there and kill it.

And I really DO agree..what a frakking assw1pe. (And that was BEFORE throwing the frog in).
