You need to sit down when you have no distractions and are relaxed & mentally alert. Maybe take a nap beforehand. :) Use cards to write down the main point of the item/issue.
Basically, you need to prioritize by most urgent/must get done items or the world ends.
In between put things that make you happy, like hubby time, so you don't go stark raving mad.
Leave items that can wait until later. I mean, it is nice to have a freshly painted room but a leaky faucet is more important. A clean house (uncluttered) is better both visually and mentally than a decorated room. Does that make sense to you?
Then you consider the timeline for getting things done. A realistic one, not a best case scenario.
You may also find that you've taken on too much. That's OK. Let that notion sit in the back burner of your brain for a while and think about taking a break from some things until you've crossed items off your list.
I got rid of internet at home and all day free long-distance phone calling because I was finding that I was sucking up time that I needed to put towards getting my home in order and supplementing my finances with coupon/sale hunting and a myriad of other things. A half hour here, an hour there, do add up.
Not sure how someone else can help other than harass me into doing it, haha. Though I admit reading other people's progress or posts on productivity make me want to be able to post one as well.
I've read so many books and websites and things on productivity and motivation but yet I sit here and watch netflix. I think some of it may have to do with living away from everyone and possibly a minor depressive/lonely state. And much of what needs to be done is at home, so I can't do it here. Though there's lots I CAN do online... I just get easily distracted. And I think some of it may be delayed out of fear of other people's opinions (emails looking for responses, etc).
