Cat-Sitting Adventure Day 1I wonder what's going through Gypsy's head as two semi-strangers come to her house to make sure she has food, clean litter, and for cuddles, even though she doesn't consent to those all that willingly

It's almost nice to hear about her being a brat. Comforting that she's not missing us too much (or possibly at all since I'm sure most of the time she really only sucks up to us to 1) be let out 2) have someone to play with and 3) to get at fish tank water).
If you want her to really play with the mouse, you either have to jingle the bell on it a whole lot and pull it around the corner where she can't see it and then wait a LONG time before she'll pounce, or there's a little paper bag with some catnip reminents in the top drawer under the microwave. Just take a tiny pinch and rub it into the mouse. She'll give it her undivided attention for a few good minutes after that.
If you find a piece of twine around the house (there might be a whole roll of it near the back basement door, but Chris might have put it elsewhere now), she really likes that stuff.
The fish food "pinch" reference is for my mother. I tried to explain how much food to give James (the turtle) and the fish, but since I couldn't attach a number to the fish food she just couldn't understand it and wouldn't let me off the hook until I found a way to give her some kind of visual reference.
The fish food dissolves and sinks after a couple of minutes, so there's probably still food in the tank, just on the rocks at the bottom, so the fish will go peck at those if they really still want more food.
And an odd note. If you see Gypsy hanging over the edge of James' tank, poke/push her off. She's most likely trying to swat at him. She's been kind of mean to James lately since James used to taunt her when she was a kitten and couldn't reach into his tank properly, so she's somewhat using her size to take revenge now.
Thanks again and again and again. I would be so worried if you guys weren't there to take care of Gypsy. *_*
