Yahoo groups are all snazzy and shiny, but I kind of miss the old way.
My lower left canine is still making disturbing movements, and the annoying thing is that I can't even remember being hit in the face, or anything that would have loosened it.
I drove up to the airport to get Ruth. I never realised, when I started driving, how slow 45mph would seem...must admit to breaking the speed limit for quite a few miles. I mean, 55 isn't that fast, and the 65 was an accident, honestly ;) I'm glad she's back, and I'm glad the hairdryer is back with her. Watching paint dry may be boring, but it has nothing on feeling hair dry.I saw a sign for somewhere called Gil-good, I think it was, but I could have sworn it said Gil-galad =)
I downloaded a pile of brushes and copied them into my Brushes folder, but they're not working. I wondered if it might be something to do with the fact that they're .jbr files, but I converted one to .pspbrush the same as the rest, and it's not even working. Selecting and making them manually works fine, but I don't have the scale .jpgs for these particular brushes. Anyone have any ideas what's wrong? =)
The second part of Earthsea was on and I taped it, but naturally the advert break came just two minutes too late after the video ran out. It looks pretty good, although there were a few dodgy moments when I had to hop up and stand in front of the screen :)
P3 revision is going okay-ish, but I would get on much better if I didn't have so many shiny new pictures and a desperate desire to make icons out of ALL of them!
They were talking about Imaginary Friends at A&E and I suddenly remembered the Under-the-Bed-People. They first came into being-oh, about ten years ago, when my sister (and therefore, of course, I) was in the middle of her Flight of the Heron phase. First of all it was just Ewen Cameron under hers and Alison Grant under mine, and they could only speak through us, but pretty soon half of the Highland population, from c.1730-1940 was under there. The advent of a new arrival was marked by a Crashbonketybingbang-bing-bang...weird how I can remember that...except for the Stewarts, who required much more noise. Then my sister got into The Silmarillion and Fëanor arrived...with excessive crashings due to the anvil he insisted on bringing. Any time the other talked about something too modern for him, he went back to smithying Nerdanel came, too...I first learned about Valinor (nicknamed "Over-the-sea-land") during one of those games, but before I could get too know many of the characters the Under-the-bed-People disappeared-that must have been when I was about ten, because I know we had a half-hearted attempt at doing it in Canada in '97, but it was already dying the death by that point. The number of times we were told off for whispering-you were hear the squeak as David got out of bed, then him pattering down the hall and the high-pitched complaint to our parents, followed by a drawer opening and the arrival of a wrathful parent =) Maybe we had too much imagination...it must have sounded pretty odd: "Yes, Bonnie Prince Charlie lives under her bed!"
Have just been informed that there is a bird in the flue. "Oh, no, not again!" Apparently its legs were visible somewhere, but I haven't quite gathered where.
Channel Four has started advertising the fact that they have apparently got rights for FotR. Every so often Gollum pops up on the screen in various guises, complete with creepy music, a Ring draped over the 4 and "Coming soon..." Despite the fact that we've had the video for three years, david and I still ooh and aah every time the little mongrel appears. Wonder why he was chosen-he's barely in the thing, and Elves are so much prettier ;)
Revenge of the Evil Plot Bunnies is continuing in full force, with another successful strike last night. This time it was Potter-verse, and involved a lot of Ginny explaining to Harry what a plonker he was for blaming himself for everything. I can't remember much about it, but I have a feeling that at one point she said something along the lines of, "Blame your mother for loving you too much, why don't you...blame the bloody Hippogriff, Harry, because it makes just as much sense..." It's that Hippogriff line that's keeping the bunny alive, darnit.
Rebecca was being hilarious yesterday morning-her laugh is just so funny. The Murphys were out in the evening, and the children are both so adorable. Anna was shy at the start, but by the end she was getting me to dress her new Annabell doll: complete with very capably put-on nappy ("It won'd stdick"), "jammies", hat ("Mummy, hat! Daddy, hat!" until Daddy produces it from his suit pocket) and bottle. Apparently she "left da dummy in da car" bu it was quite amazing enough without it...not only do the eyes open and close automatically, but the lips make sucking motions; it snores, cries, laughs and burps. Anna was particularly pleased about the last one ;)
Peter was preaching, and he was really good, I thought, especially considering it was only his first time.
