post-birthday
I have a paid account, courtesy of Ruth! And pretty icons to put in it, courtesy of Heather-see, see? Now, all I need to do is get a few dozen more pictures of Liv and/or Arwen and I'm all set with that mood theme I never finished...I have a feeling making them is going to be slightly addictive. The rest of the advantages are as yet rather beyond me, especially since my knowledge of html is severely limited, but hopefully I'll work them out before my subscription runs out ;)
My birthday was really good...Ruth excelled herself in cake making: it was really light and moist, and the icing was amazingly chocolatey *muses on the cake* and the Elliotts gave me Carpenter's biography of Tolkien and Tolkien's Letters. I was flicking through them both last night ("Be careful! That one has special paper! You'll make is greasy!") and they're really good. The Biogrpahy is in the same edition as the new, black-covered LotR set...I foresee myself going out and buying a fourth copy just so it will match the Biography =)
I had a pretty strange dream last night, about a baby that was either mine (odd), me (odder, and necessarily involving time travel) or both (let's not even get into that one.) Whoever she was, she was an extremely intelligent child and could imitate simple words the day she was born, but also kept squirming violently so that I could hardly keep a hold on her =) Then for some reason we were back in the hospital and someone was having another baby, and the McAuleys and Genevieve from school were all in the waiting room with us...strange. Perhaps it's not a good idea to talk about the day I was born ;)
Today I am going to be constructive and useful and Get Things Done. Yeah, right.
