Americans: Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving¹ went well, but I'm a little exhausted. I made a turkey, mashed potatoes, a pumpkin pie, and gingerbread cookies today with the help of
deliapants-- a sum of something like five hours' effort-- and surveying the resulting pileup of dishes makes me feel a little defeated. Luckily, everything turned out well (even the turkey, which I had never made before or really payed attention to the prep of), and there was plenty for the three of us and leftovers for
I_ces and
angel_06. Chani (the new hamham) had lots of fun in her ball, and still has crazy amounts of energy, and Leto relishes the attention of guests, of course. Tomorrow, I think I'll just chill and maybe do some homework (fuck you, evil professors who think Thanksgiving is a time for homework. It's the first break we get since labor day.) Unfortunately, something like 20% of my IR grade depends on me coming up with a paper for the 3rd, which does not make me happy, plus I have to turn in a sakubun sometime soon, and God only knows what horrors the Chinese department is going to visit on me the week we get back. For the time being, though, I'll bask in the glow of a meal well cooked; the dishes can wait.
Went to Artifacts with
deliapants (as it turns out, John's had closed an hour before I got there) and found
and its matching saucer
(took those with my phone; not bad, eh?)
ETA: Man, I'm so out of it I forgot to make those < img > tags instead of links...

¹ No, this is not a footnote, it's Thankgiving Prime.
