...so i'm taking this class at RCC. w/ a bunch of smart college kids. its hard. its not easy, i have to work hard, and they don't. they are smart let me remind you.
...so we have a final today. and i fail horribly, then our instructor proceeds to publicly interrogate me.
"mr jefferson! what is a ii, V, I in the key of Eb?"
"um... i really don't know"
"do you not know your intervals?! that is basic stuff. we have a problem here! dont' you study?! how can you not know the key of Eb?! have you ever seen a circle of fourths before? i gave you one on day one"
"ok, its Cminor, F half diminished, and EbMinor"
"not even close... you don't know your intervals"
"i know my intervals, i just don't know that key well"
"of course you don't Mr Jefferson... so whats a ii, V, I in the key of F?!"
...i was interrogated thus for half an hour. i managed to stumble through, and prove i wasn't completely brainless... i left the room with that white hot feeling in my face, where you feel like you just completely disgraced yourself... i hope i can get past it all. at least i know the drummer is dumber than me
