I find it's easier to ask people when you find out the day of that you don't have anyone going. I've been asking for days. When you're in person and can beat them over the head, it's a little better. Besides, when you send an e-mail at 10 PM, which is when I finally got home Tuesday, or at 11 PM, as I got home at Wednesday, people don't get the chance to really respond.
WHY DID YOU GO?! I called the manager at 4 PM and told her we had no one going- you didn't have the posters or the collection jar. Did Mauricio not get through to you, and if not, why didn't you let me know during art or Calc or something that you were planning on doing this? Maria Duarte could have helped, but I didn't want her there alone.
I got $25 in the span of two hours. It gets better. I don't know what you guys are doing while you're there, but something is faulty with whatever you are doing.
Phone helped today, because it was 3:30 PM and I was desperate. I was not about to go home and send out an e-mail. That would have been a bit foolish, no?
And at giftwrapping, we have a very limited range of wrap. Also, most people who donate DON'T get stuff wrapped. Last night a woman gave money after we talked about her internship at the UN, and like I said on Friday night a woman gave $25 for being knowledgeable about the UN. People give dollars here and there when they see you and are sympathetic with your cause. Gift-wrapping is simply an incentive for people to donate, whereas they might not before because they don't know anything about your club. People-skills are essential to the fundraiser in addition to nimble hands.

I think having people in pairs help a lot more, than one person sitting down and talking, etc. A lot of people wanted their gifts wrapped--but the people in the front desk did it for a while, thereby sort of pissing me off. They stopped after a while, and by the end I managed to scrape 5 dollars. There was no one at that Borders; it might have been the day, the time, whatever, but there was no one that even bothered coming over and talk to me.
Except for this old old guy who kept staring at me. That was a little creepy.
When did we get this news from Mahoney? Tuesday? We could have sent an e-mail out that day, if we had proper contact. Ask Mauricio or someone to do it via text or something. I just think that if a situation like this comes up, we send some mode of contact for all the club members, so they can have a chance at this, too--not just me, you, Marylin, Martine, Mauricio, and a couple of others, rather than the thirty-something members of MUN. Remember all those names Mauricio crossed off? They might want to giftwrap some more. It's just not fair that people call last minute and be like, LOL, YOU WANT TO GIFTWRAP? because frankly, I (don't know about others) haven't the time in my schedule to drop everything and take up a shift for 5 hours, right afterschool. ;_;
I did call Mauricio around 4. He was like, I called her 5 times and she didn't pick up so I guess giftwrapping is on today! So I went. And failed. At lyf.

I asked the people who are going to Boston to cover for Borders. We aren't going to Gator- I don't see the use in pulling those other members out when the BosMUN people essentially need the money most. And I'm serious. I think I met the whole fucking IB junior class today.
That's odd, because Eileen said that 4-6 is her busiest time. Eileen is the manager by the way.
I did not get 5 calls from Mauricio. And frankly, Mauricio is pissing me a little off with this gift-wrapping business, seeing how he dropped out yesterday to write a paper for profit.
I suspect all I'm asking for is a little more dedication from my officers, at least somewhere nearing the amount I'm putting into it, as this is our responsibility. Yesterday I needed to do the 27 LATIN ASSIGNMENTS THAT I'M BEHIND IN but I had to go to Borders to fill in for someone who dropped out. I had to go help at the Starbucks' Holiday party Tuesday and then after that rush to the VIP meeting. You assume that I have nothing to do in my life? I DROPPED WHAT I HAVE TO DO TO FULFILL A COMMITMENT THAT SOMEONE ELSE DECIDED THAT THEY DIDN'T WANT TO. I understand Patricia's predicament, seeing as she doesn't have a car and whatnot. However, she sat there for however long it was afterschool today and called whoever she could asking if they could fill in, and I appreciate that. I know you're having an attack because you went today needlessly, but I really did mean to thank you for your work and dedication today. I think I'm more upset that you went when you didn't have to, all because of a lack of communication. Furthermore, if Mauricio had any kind of presence of mind he wouldn't have said anything of the sort without getting through to me first to make sure, seeing as I spent the whole day asking people to go and arguing with him via text in second period when I really needed to pay attention in class.
AND THIS WHOLE CONVERSATION IS GOING TO GIVE ME AN ANEURYSM SO CAN WE PLEASE JUST FUCKING DROP IT BEFORE I BEAT SOMETHING TO DEATH. We're covered next week, SO ALL OF THIS IS FUCKING IRRELEVANT. >O!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was busy. Busy of old men staring at me. Either way, people were giftwrapping (that is, people that wasn't ME) and that might've had a deal in it. At least after an hour or two, they stopped. 5 dollars!! Maybe I'll use it to pay a fraction of the delegation fees. >)
I know you have a lot to do. I'm frankly swamped myself. I understand the anger you feel right now and it's seething out in bundles of joy right now, and well, I think you have a right to. I'm glad we're covered all next week, and that's great. Car wash this Saturday, giftwrapping this Saturday--all seems to be better than this hellish week.
plz don't kill me. ;_;
Whole fucking IB junior class? Parish the thought. They multiply like bunnies; there's no possible way you could've seen them all.

It was more of someone I know saying, "Crap I need this paper written for a friend," and I accepted because I knew neither the person it was being written for or the person who had been asked initially would have time to do it. Moreover, that wasn't the only reason. I had an NHS meeting to run and a piano concert on Thursday. Knowing that I wouldn't have any time to do my A-day homework for Friday, the only option I had was to do it all Wednesday afternoon/evening because I did not want to go to school on Friday sleepless and sick-to-the-stomach.
In any case, Thursday: Suh first called me asking me to check with you about gift-wrapping. As far as I knew, based on what you told me on Tuesday (and based on the fact that Mahoney asked me after school on Thursday if I could go), there was going to be gift-wrapping taking place. I called you five times while I was at the gas station and your phone was off. Then I called Suh back and told her you weren't answering, and told her that I assumed gift-wrapping WAS taking place if someone could make it. However, if Suh had her own load of stuff to do, she should not have done it, despite Mahoney's persistence(?).
Later, I was finally able to get in contact with you, and after finding out that it wasn't happening, I called Patti (because I knew Suh's phone was dead and Suh had called me from her phone earlier) asking if they were still together. They weren't. Then I called Suh and left her a message. That was that.
Once again, I apologize for dropping on Wednesday and if I have been unclear/confusing/blah blah. I have hopes that tomorrow's endeavors at B&N will be more fruitful.

But before I close this conversation for good, my phone is never off. If you can't reach me, it's likely that our phones are hating again. My phone is never off.
