It may be time for me to rebel

Now I love being a Brownie Leader, but with all the centenary events happening, I have been thinking more lately that Girlguiding UK has forgotten about us adults.

I have been involved in Guiding for over thirty years in one form or another, and about half of that has been as a leader. That doesn't mean I'm not a Guide in my own right, wanting to have all the fun of the other sections. There isn't enough provided for the adults by HQ.

If you take a look at the Centenary Website, great logos and nationally arranged events and trips for the younger sections. But what do they give the leaders? A coach trip.

Yes there was a single international opportunity available for the over 35s, but just that one and that sold out pretty quickly. GGUK seems to think we will be content with taking our girls on events. If I've got a pack of girls to look after, I can't have fun.

I think I need to tell GGUK, just like the girls below at the Crystal Palace rally, "I'm an Adult Guide. Can I join in the fun?"

To start off, I have created my own versions of the centenary logo and badge for the sectional adventures.

Do you think I have a chance?
