Redemption costume - begining to sew

Oct 04, 2008 23:03

Today I got out the material and started on the under clothes.

How's that for a big pair of knickers?

And the chemise ready to cut out.

I have started sewing the drawers. They are taking a little bit of time because there are a number of tucks at the hem. Should get them finished tomorrow, and maybe the chemise.

This is stuff that is unlikely to be seen in the masquarade, but I like doing projects like this, and you never know when the school is going to do Victorians again.

I got mother to measure me up before doing the cutting. I am actually using the size 16, but it is easier to take in than let out. (At least that's what I'm telling myself.) I know I could do with losing some weight, but no way am I a size 16!

I dread to think how much this costume is going to cost me. I've already bought four patterns, meters of material, and a hat. I haven't bought the stuff for the corset yet. Good job I'm not keeping count.
