It is technically Christmas now, but I will post that once I have had some sleep.
What have I done on Christmas Eve though? this morning I took a clock apart to fix it.
I got this clock in a raffle and when I put a battery in, it didn't work, so I thought "why not take it apart?" So I did, and had a very enjoyable time. This is why I took engineering at university.
Here are all the bits and my tools. Annoyingly, although it has big bells on the top, I find they aren't connected to anything, so won't actually ring as an alarm. I believe the alarm is an electrinic one. On looking at the connections, I find what looks like to be a short circuit caused by some solder, so fix it with my trysty Swiss Army penknife. The clock bit then works.
And here it is after reconstruction (there were no bits left over). The clock works, but the alarm doesn't. If anyone wants a Star Wars clock to tell the time, you are welcome to it.
Well, I have had my turkey sandwich after midnight mass, so it's time to turn in. See you in the morning.
