Lots of stuff going around and far too many questions needing to be answered, but here are some incoherent thoughts.
- I'm assuming the Doctor seen jumping around history is the older Doctor. I personally think he is still mad (from WoM), but this is beyond even the usual for him. Un less it is all an elaborate "Cooee!" just to make sure the Ponds come to meet him in America.
- Why have the Ponds been living two months of normal life? I like to think it's Rory who insisted they have some normality after the honeymoon. Perhaps he just wanted to enjoy being married to Amy without having to run for his life every five minutes.
- How did 1103!Doctor know to send the invitations? At some point, someone has told him what's going to happen at the lake, or he finds out (not from River if we are truely going backwards in her timeline). This is the part of the plot that reminds me so much of War Without End from Babylon 5.
- Why make the TARDIS invisible? It has a perception filter so the casual person doesn't look at it twice. Or is this just a plot device that plays off in part two?
- The Silents. Clever that you don't remember them when you look away. Only post hypnotic suggestions. Other posters have wondered how aliens in S5 seemed to know of the Silents and even taunted the Doctor about it. Perhaps they are just passing on a post hypnotic suggestion, "Tell the Doctor, Silents will fall".
- I'm thinking that maybe the Doctor can remember seeing the Silents, but not what they look like. Certainly, he doesn't see one in the first episode at all. In the second episode, he is the one telling everyone else what to do as he is able to remember them. This may be because his memory is strong enough to override the' editing' process.
- I want to see more of what happened in the three month gap. In one way, it's like an encounter with the Silents, you are as much in the dark as some of the characters; but it's also a big writing cop out so Moffat dosn't have to explain how they got out of the warehouse, how the Doctor got into Area 51, and how they managed to get the TARDIS in there as well with no one looking.
- I'm assuming Canton shot Amy and Rory with some special bullets that mimiced death (Canton is the one that shot them both). Strangely echoing the previous episode where something shot the Doctor and he appeared to be dead. (brain hurting too much on theories surrounding that one)
- Really liked bearded Doctor, but that was over far too quickly. We could have had a whole episode about how the Doctor is captured and held for three months.
- Who is the girl? What is her connection with Amy? Why is she in a spacesuit that allows her to phone other people if the Silents are keeping her prisoner? Thought came to me today; the girl said "The spaceman's going to eat me." River assumed this was before she got in the suit, but she would have had to be in the suit to make that call, so what other spaceman was going to eat her?
- Why did the Silent's want the girl at all? Are they needing a pilot for their ship, much as in The Lodger? Do they have other plans for Earth and that is why the Doctor defeated them?
- Schrodinger's baby. No thoughts or theories on this yet. Will wait to see what happens.
- Love Rory!
