Summer holiday - day 3
Today was pretty much all getting ready for the fifites evening. 
This morning was putting up bunting out the front, just so the house was easy to find. then we blew up balloons for decoration.
This afternoon was getting the food ready, plus I tested my low tech karaoke system. I had CDs playing on my CD player, and the singing going through a microphone amp that is used for the horticultural guest speakers. The parents complained that I was flat.
Managed to get my hair vaguely into a pageboy style, put on lot's of eyeliner and lipstick, before donning my sort of fifties outfit.
people soon arrived and we enjoyed Pimms, burgers, ice-cream sundaes, krispy kreme doughnuts, and some cups of tea. The ice-cream sundaes were fun. I bought all sorts of bits and sauces so people could go slightly mad.
After we'd gone through most of the karaoke CD, the discussion turned to, amoung other things, Mike the headless chicken.
Later we set up a screen in the lounge and got the projector working along with gaspodex 's tech, to watch the 50's version of 'War of the Worlds'. I am really impressed with the production values which stand up quite well today.
Thanks everyone for coming, it was great fun, and I now have completed my Adventure 100 badge.
