Quick Thought
I'm reading comments on the latest episode of Mad Men and I'm struck by one thing:
So Don embarks on a Lost Weekend type episode where he passes out with one woman and wakes up with another. A woman who referred to him as "Dick" and not "Don". To top it off, he missed his weekend with the kids. And people are bitching at Betty for yelling at him over this. Yes, Betty is not parent (or even decent human being) of the year but this man bailed on his kids because of a fuck-ton of alcohol and his infinite problems. Maybe...and I know it's hard for some people to grasp this...she is justified in being pissed at him.
Don has never been a hands-on parent and I hate seeing his apathy/"benign neglect" for his parental responsibilities written off in favor of focusing on Betty's more obvious (and obviously terrible) problems. They are both very broken individuals who have not coped well with the trails of parenthood.
All that said, Don has totally screwed up with this Doris woman. She knows his real name and she may even know where he lives.
In regards to the flashback on how Roger hired Don: I totally think Don lied about Roger offering him the job during their little early morning drink-a-thon. He got Roger plastered and was counting on him not to publically have to admit that he had overdone it.
Peggy and the douche Art Director: I hope we aren't heading toward hate sex.
