Survival

...first day of real practice. I lived. (apart from a vague all-over soreness, I'm actually pretty happy... got a compliment on my "tuck" for fly turns, huzza. We had a rather odd drill, which I've done with freestyle, but not with stroke - every 4 strokes, you have to flip, or tuck, depending on what stroke you were doing. Breast & fly turns are so much easier with a wall!)

...and I have an idea for a story...

(from the books I got from the public library, which I read while I worked at the library: Camus is oddly convincing when he tells a story from a woman's perspective. And that's kind of disturbing.)

Also: my alarm needs to stop being fustarded. Though... I don't know about getting down to the pool by 5:30 tomorrow morning, as I failed at getting there by 7:30, this morning. for work. *full of fail* the guy I was guarding with was surprisingly nice about it - he had gotten in, somehow, (I run for the keys)... urglesplat

Ah: and I had really delicious mango ceylon tea last night. And pomegranate tea yesterday afternoon, during the writing workshop that the lit mag that shot me down from their editor's board held. It's a great publication, and the food was good. Finding the WRC was irritatingly difficult (it's down by the frats, I thought it was in Tarble), but achja.

work, practice, swimming
