So I just went to an interview at a 100% black staff, 100% black students school. And I think I managed to talk my way around being a white chick. I don't have urban experience, which is the bigger issue for them, despite the fact that their school focus is on African-American heritage, and I don't really have that identity at all (because I am a white chick...)
But they're looking for a 5th grade math/science teacher. And they're going to have a pool next year. And I left the interview with hugs from both of the women interviewing me.
