I love how surrealist the view from my bed is: my avocado tree's stem disappears into the dark window behind it, and I can just see the leaves kind of floating in never-land.
I love how there's a moment when I'm swimming a relay and I'm taking down some girl next to me, and we both breathe towards each other at the same time, and I can see the fear in her eyes and know that I've caught her.
I love seeing the entire senior class from the past 2 years sitting in the stands, waving signs and being, in general, belligerent. I love seeing my team belligerent. I love being belligerent when I'm swimming against a big rival.
Boys won. And when I say won, I mean crushed F&M's Men's team into the ground.
Twas very exciting. Girls lost, but we scored higher than we were scored out to score. (Um, that sentence makes no sense. the coaches score out the meet ahead of time to try to get us to a point where we can win it, and we were scored to lose really badly, and we ended up losing not-quite-as-badly.) Also, So Many Best Times. My girls did a fantastic job. I was impressed.
My swimming? Not terrible, but nothing to call home about (though Mom and Dad and Robert and Cori all came, so I wouldn't have to anyway!).
1000: 11:28. And it hurt, and I came in 4th, though ahead of the other Swat girls. They've got a good team.
500: 5:34. 4th, Sas came in 3rd, they got 1&2.
400 free relay: 100 free split of 58.8, fastest in my relay. Chels was the only Swat girl who beat my time, of the Swat girls. :D Relay came in 5th.
ALSO BY THIS TIME ON MONDAY THERE WILL BE NO MORE MARY BETH!
I love any and every party where I can dance swing, blues, or use stuff that I've learned there in order to feel like less of an idiot dancing. For the past week, concerts have been: 16 feet, the Lineup, Drew Nugent and the Midnight Society, Gordon Webster, Liederabend, Chaverim, Alfred James Band, Grapevine. 16 feet, Chaverim, and Grapevine are a cappella, Drew Nugent and Gorden Webster are swing, the Liederabend was classical stuff by a bunch of people I know, and Alfred James came on after Chaverim and had an electric cello. Coolest instrument ever.
I danced to the swing bands, of course, but managed to find a way to dance to the Lineup & Alfred James as well. And then Frank randomly decided to swing with me while he was drunk tonight to not-swing music, but I'm ok with that =D
It's been a good week for music.
