Good news: we did make it home

 Dear Maryland,

When declaring a State of Emergency because you are Unprepared for Snow and the ENTIRE STATE has run out of salt, please inform the charter bus companies.  All of them.  Being stuck in 3 inches of snow because the swim meet went exactly the time it was allotted is frustrating.

No love,
Allison

Dear Sue and Adam and Kim and anyone-else-who-had-part-in-this-decision-making,

I wanted to go dancing tonight.  And because snow was forecasted, I got ripped off of seeing my sister, the boy she's kinda dating, Sloan, the Stonebacks, and all the other awesome LaB people.  This is irritating.  The half of a song that ALMOST had a swing beat that I danced to with Hannah and Jake and Frank does not count.  Going would have ruined my taper no less than sitting in a bus for several hours after rushing out of a swim meet with no warm-down, shower, or dinner.  Swimmers eat, Oh Wise Planning People.  We eat a lot.  Not feeding us dinner is NOT A GOOD PLAN.  We get cranky and unhappy quickly.

Also, whoop-de-doo, I have tomorrow off.  With the understanding that I should really go down and swim out anyway.  Because this whole D-III thing says that we've got to have a day off a week.  And when was our last day off (really, truly off)?  January 30th.  Minor fail, there.

Moving the meet from tomorrow to today worked.  Barely.  But grump grump grump.

Very little love,
Allison

(on the plus side, I actually swam really well, and evidently there's a Sarah who's right near my times.  I hit within-a-second-of-season-bests in both:  1000 was an 11:19; 500 was a 5:30.  She got me in the 1000, I creamed her in the 500.  Because I do not care how fast you can swim the last hundred:  if you let me get in front of you, I WILL keep that lead.  Rawr.)

swing, 1000, lab, 500, small serenities, swim meet, dance, swimming, snow
