I believe that I've thrown 13 pieces. In two days. And a good many more than I expected will probably be saved... played around with an enclosed form which may end up as a sugar bowl for my roommate (she loves sugar in her tea; I have honey. such is life) Almost had a pseudogoblet all thrown at once, but the top bowl thing died. So.
YAY I understood a good 95% of my German seminar. In German. For three hours. Last night. YAY!!!!!!! (this was the class that I was freaking out about because... yeah. no german for more than a year, now. but but but I think I'll live! and there are only four people and I'm concerned about holding up my end of the discussion, because face it, the other people in the class either live in germany or are german or have much better german than I do, but macht nichts! I will survive!) Also: if you can get ahold of a translation, or the original: I highly recommend "Es schlug mein Herz" and Prometheus by Goethe. Steve, Sonya, Pathy -- you may like these even more than I do. But there is girl=nature and creepy nature going to kill you and mocking the gods in Olympus, and... it's just really cool.
Engin is entertaining; we get to play with interesting machinery. However, I've been late 2/2 times, and I'm not sure if this professor cares. If they do, the third one = drop in letter grade. which would be tragic. so I'll stop taking people with me to class, and get to breakfast earlier.
and have I mentioned Ceramics? And how it fills my soul with happiness and joy? and how I'm going to drive everyone here crazy because of it?
started swimming already; wrote the practice yesterday (yes, I'm the sophomore rep, which means I'm some sort of captainy thing and get to do these things) and people hated it. half the guys team bowed out to play water polo halfway through. *gripes*
and I had a spec last night. she was actually the least awkward spec I've ever had, and didn't seem to mind being foisted off to a film and media studies class while I went to Goethe; hung out with the people in my hall and helped us look at puppy adoption sites (my roommate and our next-door neighbor want a hall animal - they'd both go for a cat, but kitties+Allison=no, so that's not going to happen). she woke up with me for engin; then she went to a french class and I went to ceramics. nice kid. pretty sure she's ed.
as a by the way? I <3 my roommate.
