So, my Latin texts from college are officially lost. Mum and I (you're meant to say me, aren't you? It looks so wrong...) are hopefully heading into the loft on Sunday to do a final check, but I already went up there a month ago and couldn't find them. Quintus and his crazy family could be anywhere by now! I am saddened, it's messing with *my plans.* I don't want to jump straight into...alright admittedly, beginners Latin. But I'd like to have 100 or so words of Latin vocab and the rules to start with. While I can remember a handful of words, the grammar escapes me entirely. RARR. I have stolen Chris' edition of Hesiod's poetry and am attempting to construct a family tree of his mythology...just because. It's challenging though, my paper isn't big enough! So basically, I'm a loser. :)
As the above implies, I saw Chris recently. I went up to Birmingham Monday - Thursday and fun times were had. There were also rubbish times, but that's because I keep going a bit wrong and weepy, hopefully it'll pass. I'd missed the cuddles. We also went to see Teeth, omg. HILARIOUSLY bad. It has teenage-boy-from-Nip/Tuck as a creepy guy who fancies his step-sister, which amused me. :) I liked it mostly for the exposure of Christian extremes and America's fear of sexuality, but the decapitated penises were also worth watching. :D Unfortunately I said to Becky I'd see this with her when she gets back from Turkey, so ALAS, repeated viewing. I probably won't see Chris for quite a long while now, as I can't afford to visit him again after accidentally losing my return ticket and spending £60 instead of £30 as a result...
On the plus side though, I have a job! Sort of. Next rang me when I was away about my application, so I rang them back yesterday and they offered me about 2 days worth of work on the shop floor sorting sales stuff. I was a bit disapointed but figured any money was worth it, so accepted. About half an hour later a different lady rang offering me about 30 hours working in the warehouse with the stock, and I made a point of asking if there were other jobs/hours available as I needed as much work as possible, and she said she'd put me at the top of the list. YAY. It's a bit strange that I don't have to have an interview though. I also don't know where the warehouse is exactly, hopefully mum will show me before I start. I know someone who is working there, so hopefully I can leech onto her if I get confused. :)
I'm currently waiting for Warren to go out so I can get some work done. I don't like working when there are noises around me, it's too distracting. And I can't work in the evenings as the TV is on and it is literally as if it's in the adjacent room. Stupid TV. My plans for the day involve my lovely 8th century BC poet, ice-cream and Dr Who. Good times. :D
