I'm so tired. I actually got up for my 9am Revisioning Shakespeare lecture (after debating the pros and cons of going back to sleep) and seriously, there was at least 50-60% of students missing. WTF. It was an okay lecture as well, all about King Lear's stage history, and the edits that were made. Wtf, I'm only up to the end of Act One and even I know marrying Cordelia off to Edgar would have been a horrible plan. We briefly went in to how Charles II recreated the theatre with his mistress' help and I went into a happy Stage Beauty world, and now I crave the film. I knew I should have taped it...
I have to leave for Augustan Rome in 10 mins but euuuuurgh. Tired, and The Aeneid! THE AENEID. I dare any of you to read that. Just try it. I only really like Book 4 and Book 6 (is that the one with the underworld? I think so but it might be 8...or an entirely different number...) At least after this week we move on. I think we move on to art, I can tolerate Roman art, just about.
Me and Alice went to choir yesterday, and Ruth is a really good director. Considering how the porter was missing so we couldn't get to the keyboard, we did very well. And actually warmed up more or less properly. And there were 2 boys omg, yay, no longer are we a 2 part choir! Afterwards we watched Jesus Christ Superstar, I'd forgotten how much I adore that film. And was disturbed to discover that Pilot looks ever so slightly like Mark Gatiss when he pulls certain expressions. Only in his first encounter with jesus, which I can't find on youtube, but yes.
NNGH, Rome it is then.
