Iphigenie en Tauride

Gah, I love opera. There is an overabundance of man-love in this one. The entire third act is basically made up of Orestes and Pylades screaming at each other about who's going to die and who's going to go back to Greece-both of them wanting to save the other by dying. Their friendship is so emo.

I LOVE YOU GUYS GIRLS MAD GENIUSES!

(Alas, still no opera icon. This one will have to suffice.)

Very mad.

(I have mostly opera icons, but you'd have to have actually seen the operas I have to recognise them).

If this works, it would be fantastic. :)

What's the icon with the guy with the cardboard head? It looks strangely familier.

It's from Iphigenie en Tauride, the one with Hampson and Graham. I got the pics from Hampson's site. I went and ordered that album today. The fangirlness knows no bounds. :)

Mm. Maybe I just saw the idea somewhere else.

Ah, and I emailed you, by the way.

I got it! I did see that dress, and it is wild. It would make a fantastic Queen of the Night costume. I don't know how she managed to be comfortable in that.

I can only imagine it's glued on to her with double-sided tapes- there's no other way that could stay on. And it must just have been somewhere quite warm. Besides which, of course it looks uncomfortable. She's got to have something to complain about- God forbid Keira should ever be suspected of having a good time. (Yes, I am being mean. She just suffers so enthusiasticly, it's really quite cute.)

Yippee, thank you! Now that you've given me the idea, I should go check out the Virginia Opera site and see if I can mak some of my own.
