New Project!
Hey all you wonderful ladies! (And possibly, gents, who knows?)
First of all, I've decided I'm going to start a Facebook page/discussion group to give us a place besides CS and LJ to talk and share and just enjoy all things that is Elena (And all of TVD) fashion! Once I create it, I will put the link up here and CS, and anyone who has a Facebook account is welcome to come join in the fun! It's just anoter outlet for us to share our excitement over new pieces, talk about the fashion of the show, and just have fun!
Also, I know I brought this up months ago, and I think I'm finally going to kick it off. I am going to work on creating a complete Elena Gilbert (and Katherine Pierce) breakdown. More on that in a second :-)
It has been awesome having all of you follow my blog and help all you wonderful sweet ladies build your colletions. It really makes it all worthwhile! One amazing moment I experienced this year was at the TVD New Jersey collection. We were standing around at registration, dressed as of course Elena and Caroline with
carolineclosetand I was approached by a girl I didn't know. She asked to take a picture with me, I figured it was just because I was dressed as Elena from the season 3 finale, and being an avid con-goer, I'm used to people taking pictures and appreciating the cosplay I do. What she said next really floored me. She said she followed my blog here and that my collection and helpfulness had helped her find items, and she was happy to meet me. (I'm sorry I didn't catch your name at the time! If you're reading this, please comment and/or message me! I'd love to see the picture of us together!!!)
Really, that meant the world to me. I started this blog to share my collection with others and to help and guide others into building their collection, and having someone I have never met or spoken to come up to me and tell me that what I do made a difference to them, it really was more than I could ever ask for <3
OKAY, back to the break-down. Anyway, I am going to be working to create a comprehensive episode by episode, scene by scene breakdown of Elena's wardrobe. Spotted and unspotted items included. Coolspotters is amazing, but this will be a detailed guide into everything we've ever seen Elena wear. But I won't be able to do it without your help! It's going to be a long process, and I will be spearheading the effort and posting it on my blog (I might also be making a wordpress blog soon--stay tuned) But like I said, I'm going to need help! And of course everyone will get credit for the spots I feature in the breakdown (to the best of my ability as to the information there is on CS) and credit for helping!
That's why I'm posting here, I don't want to spam CS over the next weeks, months, or however long it takes to complete this project, so I'm calling for volunteers. PLEASE if you would be interested in helping me track down pictures, help me make descriptions of items, etc, basically any contribution to the breakdown, comment here and let me know!
The reason I want to do this is because it will be very helpful to have an episode by episode guide to all of Elena's looks, and could lead to us spotting more older items that have been evading us so far! Now I wont be taking credit for the spots like I said, (except my own of course XD) but I will merely just be compiling the information and elaborating on it, to make a guide for all Elena collectors/cosplayers/enthusiasts. I will be going scene by scene outfits from head to toe, including hair, makeup style, and of course all the clothes we love so dearly.
I'm excited to get started, and excited to see how many of you would like to be involved! Once I have a list of interested parties, I will contact you to get email addresses, etc, and find a place where we can all post and discuss together to get this done. Other costuming communities have done this, and it is a great help!!!
And once again, I just want to thank you all for letting me, Elena Gilbert's Closet, be a part of such a wonderful community of amazing ladies. Many of you have become part of my circle of best friends, and I wouldn't have a lot of my collection without you!!!! <3<3<3
