AO3 meme

thisbluespirit did it, so I must too - can't break with tradition ;)

Rules: Go to your AO3 works page, expand all the filters, & answer the following questions!

I have 193 works on AO3.

What're your 1st & 2nd most common work ratings?

General Audiences (181)
Teen And Up Audiences (10)

(So if you've been doing the math, that means a grand total of 2 outside these ratings - both Mature)

What's your most common archive warning?

No Archive Warnings Apply (188)

Least common archive warning?

Major Character Death (2)

Do you consider yourself an adventurous writer?

I mean, define adventurous? Not particularly if it's in terms of ratings and warnings, obviously... I do venture out into new fandoms a lot, though.

How many works have you made in each pairing category?

Gen (150)
F/M (28)
F/F (22)
M/M (5)
Other (1)

Is this more accidental, or do you have preferences?

I do like my gen (and my pre-relationship fic that ends up tagged as both gen and appropriate pairing, hence the numbers adding up to more than 193). The "Other" could probably have been gen too, but it was anthropomorphic words so I went for Other in the end. As for the rest, I'm somewhat amused M/M is the lowest when the common perception of fandom is that it's all slash :P (And the ones I have written are all obscure fandoms... I am a hipster slasher, apparently?) I do tend to ship canon ships more, and those tend to be het, I guess? The Chalet School is responsible for easily 90% of the F/F ones.

What are your top 4 fandoms by numbers?

Swallows and Amazons - Arthur Ransome (30)
Chalet School - Elinor M. Brent-Dyer (29)
Harry Potter - J. K. Rowling (24)
The Mentalist (13)

Are you still active in any of them, & do you tend to migrate a lot?

I'm definitely actively writing in S&A (it's the only one of those on the front page), and I have some bunnies/drafts for Chalet School and Harry Potter. Nothing in the works for The Mentalist right now - I wouldn't be surprised if Critical Role took the 4th spot instead next year - but I don't tend to abandon fandoms, more to accumulate them. As for migrating a lot, I just checked and I have 75 fandom tags, does that answer your question? ;) (Sure, some are semi-duplicates like MCU+specific film, but most are unique).

What are your top 4 relationship tags?

Hilda Annersley/Nell Wilson (14)
Patrick Jane & Teresa Lisbon (5)
Kathie Ferrars/Nancy Wilmot (3)
Nancy Blackett/John Walker (3)

Does this match how you feel about the characters, or are you puzzled?

Looks reasonable... I'm surprised there's not more John/Nancy (OTP forever), I should write more of them! And I will never not be amused at the "&" tag that persistently stays in these top four.

What are your top 2 most used additional tags, & your bottom 2?

Fanart (19)
GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program) (19)

Picspam (6)
Pre-Relationship (5)

(With honourable mention to Family and World War II, both at 6 uses).

What would happen if you combined all 4 of these into a fic?

A picspam of people staring longingly at each other when they think the other isn't looking, evidently... It could easily happen. (Getting Family and WWII in would be trickier, but not impossible with the right fandom. And this question is probably more interesting with people who tag more!)

How many WIPs do you have currently running on AO3? Any you don't plan on finishing?

Technically one, but it's my sister's really - I helped with the writing (and the sarcasm :P) but she had the last word. It's actually complete on ff.net and has been for a while, just neither of us finished the cross-posting... I might try and get her to do it now as she's planning a sequel!

Otherwise, I'm far more of a one-shot than a long-form writer. I do have a few fics that could/should have a sequel, but I haven't actually started any of them (I stopped those fics at single-scene endings because going further clearly required actual plotting!). I don't think I'd start posting a multi-chapter fic until I had at least a loose draft/outline of the whole thing.
