Farewell

Well this will be my last blog entry I suppose and it felt necessary for me to say something to conclude what was really an experiment for me. I had never written a blog before and was a bit nervous about doing so but I managed to survive the experiment and actually enjoyed the way that the blog allowed us to get to know each other a little as well as the way it allows us as individuals to reflect on ourselves and what we have learned.
This course has been very interesting to me and while I felt that I was not able to give it "my all" it has been a valuable experience. I have realized that I have so much to learn and that child development and Psychology are definitely the areas that I want to spend my time and energy studying.
I have realized that there is more to thinking and learning than I ever imagined and that every nuance of behavior is affected as much by subtleties in our environment as by more obvious actions and interactions. And to think that we just covered the basics! It feels now that the course was too short and I am wishing that we had more time to explore the subjects that we just touched upon. I also regret that my methods for learning are not what I would wish them to be, I feel that just skimming over the required reading of text and researching here and there has not satisfied me and does not always help me to understand fully what is being taught or what is there to be learned.
I think of psych 101 as an appetizer, and the array of choices for the main course is now before me. Which department of psychology should follow? I still need to figure that out.
Best of luck to everyone in their exams, and studies in general.
