Taking your vacuum in to be serviced results in feelings similar to when the dentist gives the lecture when you aren't flossing enough. The vacuum lady had saved my old filters to show me how impossibly dirty they were. I felt like the worst vacuum owner ever. There are filters on a vacuum that you're supposed to change? I had no idea.

I had a vague idea it could be done, since I'd seen a vacuum repair place advertising it. Maybe not all vacuums require it? No idea really. I just knew mine has stopped sucking and just kind of sounded clogged up.

See I know I'm not alone in my vacuum abuse! Like I said to the commenter before you, I only knew because I saw a repair show that was advertising a service/cleaning. :) And I still waited until the vacuum literally couldn't suck up a single particle of dust.

It was $50 including labor, two filters, a new belt, and a new bag. Seems a bit much to me, but considering it's been 5 years, I guess I shouldn't stress too much over the cost.

Death stares were on the house. ;)
