It disturbs me how many people don't know how to use dollar signs. I see this all the time online. It's $125, not 125$. It's just one of those things that makes me crazy every time I see it, I don't know why.

you know what else is amazing? how people dnt know thats it EITHER $.50 or 50(cent sign). NOT BOTH!!! its not correct to say .50cents.

you know what else amazes me? how many people cant write! do you ever read the ads on craigstlist? they make me cringe sometimes. like this one, for example: http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/zip/217711063.html

Oh my lord, that was just sad. Freg? FREG? I'm embarrassed for them.

That's true about the 0.50cents thing. That would mean, I guess, half a cent which doesn't make any sense at all!

or you mean, it doesnt make any CENTS at all! HA!

what makes it even sadder to me is that he wrote "Fefigerator."

that gets me too..although i do it myself sometimes.

especially at work if i'm calling someone to get a declared value or something dealing with price..and they say "ten thousand, fifty-five dollars"
i'll end up typing 10,055$...then i go back and im like..what the hell..

Yeah, I'm sure it's because we say it following the number. But still, don't these people look at it and think it looks wrong and then correct themselves?

Agreed. Dollar sign goes before the amount. I also hate this:

"I don't know when to use question marks?"

finishing a statement with improper punctuation. D'OH!

I think people that are putting the dollar sign after the amount are thinking "125 dollars" and in that lazy text/abbreviation way that also spawns "i think ur hott!" they follow the amount with the word as a symbol. Ugh.

IS THE PUBLIC EDUCATION SYSTEM FAILING US ONCE AGAIN?!

A lot of people seem to make it through high school having learned almost nothing. It's pretty sad.

What annoys me is that I can't figure out how to make euro signs with my keyboard. Why isn't this standard yet? I can easily make a pound or a dollar sign, but not a euro - which is of course the sign that is most relevant in my life.

That is weird! Do you have to buy a new keyboard?

I'm embarrassed to say that I don't even know what a euro sign looks like. I haven't been to Europe since that became standard.
