I was planning on taking a "well day" off of work anyway, but last night it turned into an actual sick day, dammit.
The icky feeling even before trivia last night, so I stopped by the CVS for some Pepto (the bottle I had had expired more than a year ago, which is some indication of how long it's been since I've needed it. Then again, the only OTC medication that ever gets used before its expiration date is the Immodium [which I had to buy this weekend]) on the way home.
Long story short, called in sick. Went back to bed since I got so little sleep during the night. And now it's already 2:15.
Still have a headache. Not hungry, but need to eat.
On the plus side, I'll get to watch the Italy-France game that starts in a few minutes. It's going to be brutal, but the hair will be FABulous! There will be Italian bodies strewn about the pitch, flopping like landed fish, only to be miraculously cured as soon as the stretcher carries them to the sideline. French eyebrows will be permanently raised, mouths agape in constant surprise and despair.
The best part? If Romania beats the Netherlands' B-team in the other game in that group, both the Azurri and Les Bleus will be going home since they both tied the Romanians and got spanked by the Dutch. A tie will yield the same result.
