On the way home from work Wednesday night, my car hit 100,000 miles. Sometime in the next couple of weeks, I need to take it in to the dealership for a 100,000 mile tuneup and tranny flush, plus a check of the belt(s) that like to squeal in high humidity. I also need keyless entry and a new key made. One of the biggest aggravations about the car is that there is no key on the passenger door; the only way into my car is through the driver's door (and then hit the unlock all button for anyone else who wants to get in). It will also be nice to just push a button to unlock the car in the pouring rain. My current key broke so that it can't fit on a keychain; it works perfectly otherwise.

I need to figure out when to return to trivia.

Did you know you can't donate blood while you have stitches? Found that out Thursday when I tried to donate during the blood drive here at the Capitol.

The stitches come out tomorrow, finally. The band-aids I've been using stick too well, and hurt like hell coming off. They leave red patches on my skin. The weird discoloration (mostly red, actually) that sent me to the dermatologist in the first place haven't gone away, and I still haven't figured out what could have caused them. The bruising from the stitches themselves has faded, though my leg still sometimes has little muscle spasms in the area around them. I'm hoping all of that goes away tomorrow afternoon.

Tomorrow night is the college fair at Holy Innocents' Episcopal School. Nicole and I will once again be manning the Goucher table. It's the only fair we're doing these days, and we're none too happy about it. We'll both be at Goucher in a few weeks, so we'll have the opportunity to sit down with the admissions people and ... discuss things. It just so happens we know several fairly important people at Goucher, so maybe we can make some headway.

My 15th
college reunion is in a few weeks. I'll drive up to Baltimore, with a stop at LSB's place in DC. Not sure exactly when I'll leave or return. The Class of 1993 has quite a few activities planned, most of which involve drinking. I believe the word we're using is "cocktails." I wonder if it's safe to assume most of us will be leaving the kids at home this year. Unfortunately, our softball game is scheduled at the same time as our
classmate's talk about abortion. I wonder if she knows the proper term is
"prenatal murder"*? Up until the other day, only three of us had signed up for Reunion: our class president, the president of the Alumnae/i Association, and me. Today there are four, but I don't think any of us were part of the Reunion committee. More of us better show up or that's going to be a really awkward softball game. Doesn't matter -- as long as I get to heckle Rob when he's introduced as AAGC prez, I'll be fine.

It's very quiet at the office today. I can even hear my thoughts echoing in my brain brain ....
* Holy crap! Why did no one tell me Bobby Franklin has a blog?
