Superbad pain

Still in pain. Popping ibuprofen. I think it's more from the dragging and lifting the TV than the dodgeball. I definitely strained something in my right ring finger (exacerbated by the dodgeball and now writing) and my left quad is not happy with the whole concept of "stairs." I even took the elevator this morning. I will continue whining until the pain goes away, but I'll try to keep it out of this here blog. Stop laughing!

Watched Superbad on the giant TV last night. I get why everyone thinks it's so awesome, but it just didn't do it for me. I laughed a lot, but I cringed too many times. I just can't find the humor in situations where a character is making an ass out of himself or is being humiliated, whether on purpose or by accident. It's like that one episode of Three's Company that was on every single week - I just couldn't watch that show. Nearly every scene with David in the second season of the original Office is the same way, but the rest of the show is so awesome I just fast forward through the cringe-worthy scenes.

I'm glad I watched the "making of" featurette because it explained one thing that really bugged me about the movie: the way Seth kept talking really really loudly in public places, especially about Things Better Left Unspoken. Turns out they did that on purpose as a character trait. It worked great, really, but I still wanted to smack the kid.

I'd only recommend it if you don't mind listening to a fat kid talking incessantly about pussy and obsessing about booze. There's surprisingly little-to-no nudity, not including the absolutely hilarious penis drawings (somebody please tell me they sold those in a comic or used them in some promo somehow - they're really genius). But I think I liked Can't Hardly Wait better.

movie, pain
