I never could get the hang of Thursdays.

I've just been informed that today is Thursday. I thought it was Wednesday. You'd think this news would make me happy, but now I'm just confused. It was Monday that did this. Monday was a state holiday, but I had to come in to work for most of the day anyway. Damn you, Monday! Damn you to hell!

There is no Thursday on four day weeks. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday. It doesn't matter whether the holiday is the first day of the week or the last. If there are two holidays in a week, you also lose Tuesday.

Excellent. I'll keep this in mind for future reference. But what if the holiday is in the middle of the week, like July 4?

That adds an extra weekend. So it goes Monday, Friday, HOLIDAY!, Monday, Friday.
