I about freaked out when I saw a headline about Dunn retiring.
Turns out, it was something about
HP chairwoman Patricia Dunn, who has no bearing on my life at all.
For a minute there, I thought it was about Cincinnati Reds left fielder
Adam Dunn. He also plays first base for the mighty
Dying Quails; had he suddenly decided to retire in the middle of a wild card race at the tender age of 26 after hitting .243-40-91 in just 142 games, my offense couldn't possibly recover. Even with less than 20 games left in the season, I'm not sure the DQs could hang on to first place, not with Chipper and Izzy down and Schilling failing to make a start last week even though I had him active.
WHEW!
