weekend

I actually had quite a nice weekend.

Went to Chomp and Stomp on Saturday. I didn't walk, as missy_carter picked me up on her way there, but I did end up walking home. There was a lot more chili than I had anticipated. A lot more. But I didn't eat nearly as much as I thought I would, despite my excellent preparation.

The little Artists' Market was probably, booth for booth, the best I've seen in town in years. I actually bought something (a onesie for Ben for Chanukahmas) at one of these things for the first time in years. The goods were actually unique - there weren't three booths doing the exact same thing - and the prices were very reasonable. And most everybody was local, many even from right there in Cabbagetown.

The chili began to run out around 2:00, and my camera battery started to die around 2:30, so I left soon after. Carter left earlier to be responsible (something about an oil change), so I ended up walking home. Along the way out of C-town, I got a couple of pictures for the next two DPC challenges.

I only got a handful of pictures at the festival itself, but they can be found over here.

On Sunday, I went over to N&P(&J&B)'s to help move a crib from one room to another, which meant spending time with the boys. Got some quality time with Ben, who was actually awake for once. After he mysteriously spat up whatever he had for lunch a half hour earlier (it's like it magically appeared - one second he was clean, happy baby, and the very next second, there was spit up all over his shoulder and the crib mattress), I held him while Mom & Dad changed the sheets and dressed up the inside of the crib. He seemed to be fascinated by the top of my head.

After the kids went down for a nap, I watched their TiVo'd Smallville from Thursday. What a terrible show. Seriously. The only reason it wasn't a waste of an hour is because whoever they got to play Lois Lane is kinda hot and spent some time in this episode in a stripper outfit. An underage Lois Lane, but I didn't feel icky because she's a 19 or 20 year old underage (as opposed to 15 or 16) and the actress playing her looks to be and probably is in her mid-twenties. (Turns out she's almost in her late twenties.) And, wow, Tom Wopat looks terrible. Not as bad as the writing or John Schneider's acting, but not good. Lucky he's on Broadway, where the audience is too far away to see the canyons on his face.

People still watch that show? Seriously? I can understand watching to look at pretty people (and Tom Welling and Kristen Kreuk are very pretty), but not even pretty people can overcome the awfulness of that show. It's why I can't even watch Charmed anymore despite Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs, and Rose McGowan.

Anyway, after grocery shopping, I went home and took Fizzgig out back for some playtime. When we went back in, I found some blades of grass on the couch. Odd. Until I also noticed the couch was damp surrounding the grass. And a bit foamy. And stank. Lovely. Now, why couldn't she do that on the hardwood floor instead, where it's easier to clean up?

And to think, I get to deal with this for another ten years without hope of her growing out of it. I think I prefer the baby's spit-up.
