Once again, it pisses me off when people take others to task about what's on their FB wall. As I've said a million times before, it's THEIR wall and THEIR virtual space and YOU (nor I) have no right to ask them to remove posts from their own wall or anything similar.
If you want to post an opposing opinion, do it on your wall, blog, journal, or whatever. But I've seen people tell others to take posts down and the like. UM...NO. Others DO NOT get to tell YOU what to keep on your wall and what to delete.
Hell, I've gotten messages from STRANGERS who've never met me before, calling me "Little lady" and chastising me for using curse words on my Facebook wall. First of all, I'm NOT your "Little lady," and second of all, I will use whatever words I DAMN WELL PLEASE. Don't like it? BYE!
This was a huge reason why I stopped adding people I don't personally know. I've slipped and added a few people I don't personally know, but almost every time it's turned out to be a mistake. I am who I am, and I'm not going to allow a STRANGER tell me what I can and cannot post or which words I can use. I'm a writer and I'll express myself in the way that *I choose*, and you don't have to like it.
I have one friend who seems to get bullied by people on her wall-most of the time it's family members, too. That shit doesn't wash with me. I don't care if you're family, you don't tell me what to post on my wall and they don't get to tell her what to post on her wall. If they disagree, they can post something in rebuttal on their own walls.
Here was the comment I posted on her wall a few minutes ago after reading some asinine comments from at least one of her family members:
"XX, please remember that this is YOUR wall and you can post whatever YOU want, whether it's an image or a comment. NOBODY else gets to tell YOU which religion or belief system to follow, WHAT to think, or WHAT to post on your wall. They don't like it? They can take a hike. I'm sure they would squeal and make all sorts of noise if you tried to tell them what to post on their FB walls or what belief systems they can follow. Some people act so entitled, as if they get to dictate what you, personally, should post. And it's bullshit (yes, I said it). Don't allow them to bully you. And, if they are Christian, maybe they should ask what Jesus would think of their behavior, too. You are far too polite to such people when they act this way toward you. I don't care if they're your family or a friend...it's a bullshit way to act toward you. And if they don't like my comment, they can kiss my PAGAN ass."
