Aug.15th-17th
Yea well we had a wonderful weekend, before the kids go back to school. Just run run run. I am ready to relax now. Yea right!
Well first off, took Nina to get some clothes, took her friend Jermy with us. Had quite a conversation with him on car motors and trannies. Nina hardly talked to him, she wasn't feeling well. And hasn't been eating right. I keep telling her but she won't listen. Anyways went to the mall, all she found was a shirt and a pair of pants from Hot topic. Then she wanted to go home. Was feeling bad. Jermy as well as I got after her cuz she wouldn't eat anything. Finally she agree on a turkey sand. from Panera's. Then we got home had to finish packing to go away.
Not ONE person was ready and as soon as we got home no one did anything. I did all the packing and loading of the truck even drove to Holly. We went to the Ren Faire there, but tried to spend the nite at the state park they had there, but it was full. So we went back to Heartford (?) and got a room at the Best Western. Nice place, inside heated pool and everything, but would of rather had spent the nite there after we went to the festival so that the kids could of enjoyed the pool at least. Nope got there about 12:30pm and ate something went to bed. Had to be out buy 11am.
I got up and took a shower at like 7:30am Saturday morn. Really wanted to sleep in but also wanted to be at the festival for opening ceremonies. Everyone had their showers and we packed up and left. Day looked to be somewhat of a scorcher. But turned out nice.
We got there about 10:30am. And walked, walked, walked. Watch Dead Bob show, saw the parade, the Washing well wenches, that one was sooo funny. I wished they had called my hubby up to embarress him. I really enjoyed that show. It did start to rain. But the wenches were getting the crowd wet anyway so the majority of us stayed and they finished the show. It had quit raining before it was done anyways. So we watched some Jousting. Joey and Jose did some fencing and Joey won. The girls and I got to try on OH MY GOD get this... Belly Dancing outfits! Erika and Nina looked fantastic. But me....AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... NOPE! never again *picking my self up from the floor*. I looked sooo horrible. God kick me if I ever do that again at my weight now. BLAH. I really looked like a "bleached, beached whale." I really wish I had gotten my picture taken that way I could put it on the fridge to remind me and give me the strength to get on that diet and stick to it!! I did love the harem pants and skirt that went over it. But I really need to loose this weight. I think it is mostly that I have Linebacker shoulders that makes it look bad. I saw other ladies heavier that me pulling this outfit off. they looked great. Anyways had fun doing that, then nina wanted to try the gypsy outfits but they wouldn't let you, you had to buy it as you were trying on. Oh and by the way the outfits we tried on were between $185.00 and $295.00. Alright enough with the ranting...
We walked some more. Joey bought some lil puppet creature, a sword and sheeth(know what it is just not if I am saying it write) Erika found herself a very nice looking rose peddler. I think she was following him around to see if she could get the courage up to buy a rose from him or maybe see if he wanted to come home with her *wink*. Nina got a henna and many compliments on it, I think it was more of the location *wink* Many from the parade too complimented on it. Erika didn't really find anything she wanted she did get this neat hair jewelry. I think too with her trying on the outfit she wants me to make her one for the next festival too.
Anyways we closed the place down. LOOOOONG DAY but lots of fun. I was looking for something for my s.s.g. but didn't really find anything that screamed out to me to send her.
Anyways we closed the place down like I said, and started to head for a place to camp for the night before it got dark. We were going to the state park right there in or near Holly. But hubby went the wrong way. And the only campground in our direction was in St.Johns or Ionia. So we chose Ionia. It was a very nice park concidering we were only like 20 mins from the home. Very nice place. We got there about 9:30pm and quickly set up the tents and got a fire going. We had two tents one for us and one for the kids. Well hubby didn't listen to me and grab some blankets. No NO it is gonna be too hot, he says. Yea right, the kids had theirs, we went to bed in our tent and they in theirs. I ended up freezing pulling clothes out of the bag and trying to cover up....nope no luck so I woke him up and he said he was freezing too so we slipped in the tent with the kids. Sure it was warm there but for some reason the ground I was laying on was cold and seemed to get colder. Well of course, I was on the ground, ground, not the grass like the other tent was set on. Needless to say I tossed and turned and tried not to squish Nina who in turn tried not to squish Erika. LOL it was funny I was rolling on my side, then my stomach, then my other side, then my back and it was going on all nite. I don't know if I even got any sleep!!! But it was fun. We got up, went to have breakfast and then came back walked a bit then took a lil nap. Got up packed up camp and just toured the area and went swimming. We met some ppl from Lansing (mexicanos)and they invited us to stop and visit them whenever in the area and Jose told them the same. I think we know him, actually. Finally we packed up came home and got ready to go over to my compadre's house for a cookout.
Tomorrow we have another one at the comadre's house, they are having BBQ chivo, for her boyfriend"s birthday. She has already been warned about this asshole and by me and in the cards. But what can you do?
