Frankly, I wouldn't worry about it too much. I second-guess myself (I guess everyone does), but no one's come and yelled at me yet, and I let through a lot more than you do. I probably do more rewriting than I should, but it's so much easier to do that than kick it back and wait and wait and never know if you're going to be stuck waiting a whole week to get paid because the stupid writer decided to abandon the article. Basically, I kick things back for issues with the references or if I have a question about the content. But if I can read it and visualize the steps in my head as I go, and the references are kosher, then I let it go through (after I've cleaned up the text, obv.).

Although I have to say that my "people unclear on the concept" award of the week goes to a gal who was supposed to write an article about how to remove mold-release residue...and she wrote about getting rid of mold. Um, no, mold release is what you spray in a mold so your piece doesn't stick. Sometimes the mold release needs to be cleaned out. Maybe some people wouldn't have caught that, but I spent too much time around the ex and his FX friends not to know about mold release and the gunk it sometimes leaves behind in your molds...
