Logline: And young werewolf girl who has been raised by nuns must find the courage to come to terms with herself so that she can fight the demonic focuses that are threatening the world.
* * *
In the beginning God created the world. He created birds of the air and the fish of the sea. He created the animals that inhabited the earth. And God created man to lord over the earth. God gave man the power to rule on one condition: that he not eat from the tree of good and evil. However man disobeyed God.
And that was how evil was brought into this world.
Rachel is a short athletic girl who loves being in the thick woods that surround her home. The dense forest has always been like a part of her, as if something inside her just belongs in the wild. Like many mornings she loves to take early walks, nimbly run through the thick foliage. It always takes a lot of willpower to head back to her home to get ready for school, and her normal life.
The large ancient monastery that Rachel calls home doesn’t seem to quite fit the spunky brash girl. It has stood the battle of time becoming more like part of the mouton that it sits on than the small town it over looks. Even thought the majestic beauty of this building doesn’t seem like it, it is the only place Rachel has ever called home.
The town that is just below the monastery is a small country town where everyone knows everyone. Only the few chosen people are recognized among the many average people as talented and worth anything.
The high school that Rachel and most of the teen-aged population of the small town attends is a small school where -like the town- everyone knows everyone. It is a rare occasion when there are new students. However this particular school day is one of those days. Two young teens have just joined the small school’s student body. Vincent and Snow, the two new students, instantly become the most popular kids for, not only their stunning good looks but, their stunning talents.
Josh, Rachel’s closet friend, can’t hide his disgust about how easily the new kids were so readily accepted by their peers. He expresses his option as he walks Rachel to the school’s race track. Rachel is part of the track team, and while she isn’t the best she works hard. Today are the qualifications for an out-of-town meet. Rachel is hoping to be able to participate and has been working for months to get ready.
As the race starts out everything seems to be working in her favor. All the hard work has paid off. However, just as Rachel is about to win when a wave of sickness sweeps over her causing her to stumble and fall. She loses the race.
Broken hearted Rachel goes back to the monastery to find Brother David, a father figure to the young girl, waiting for her at the bus stop. Josh told him what happened. Both talk about the race and Rachel confides in the older man, telling him how badly she wanted to win. How she had wanted to go from just being an average girl to someone amazing.
Brother David listens intently to her than explains that sometimes we not called to do amazing things. Sometimes the gifts God gives us aren’t those of amazing talents but something greater, something inside of us.
David’s talk really helps Rachel and gives her the strength she needs. She spends the next few days helping the winning runners train; working with her new lab partner, Snow, helping her feel at home, and just hang out with Josh. However her odd waves of sickness and the odd feeling that something is not quite right seems to be looming over her.
Soon, worried about her, Josh invites her to come with him to his Grandmother’s Herb store. When Rachel meets the eccentric old woman, who is able to give the young girl some herbs to help her strange illness, she warns Rachel that this might be something more than just a passing cold. Right now the whole town seems to be having some strange weather and other odd elemental problems. It is as if the whole world knows something bad is about to happen.
That night Rachel wakes up from a nightmare coated in a cold sweat, images of strange monsters still haunting her. Running to the bathroom she throws up her sickness becoming worse. The weather outside is as strange as her dreams. A clouded sky filled with lighting rages above. Suddenly a huge gust of wind sweeps away the dark clouds and the light from the silver full moon shines in. Jumping back is shock and pain Rachel’s senses suddenly go wild. It’s as if she can see, smell, and hear things that are unable to be sensed by a human.
Like the lighting ahead she suddenly hears David scream, his voice sounds so clear and her senses are so sharp it’s as if he’s right there with her. Panicking she dashes toward the monk’s house. As she comes closer she smells other people, hearing their heartbeats and she can see shadows in the cabin’s windows.
Rachel breaks down the door without even realizing that her strength has grown like most her senses. All that matters right now is saving the one person who has been like a father to the orphan. David.
It’s dark in the small cabin, unnaturally dark. Rachel’s new senses can only pick out three figures. One, the smallest is holding up the other by its neck. Suddenly the small figure lets the person drop, limp and lifeless to the ground. Rachel runs toward the people but isn’t able to get there fast enough. The two people are gone, leaving the third limp and lifeless on the floor. This is when Rachel sees who the person is: David.
Fear over takes the young girl. She is crying even before she checks his body for signs of life. But the sobbing girl doesn’t find any. He is dead.
Suddenly her sorrow is replaced by anger. Letting out a howl of hate the pent of emotions suddenly explodes. Her body suddenly starts to change until she has transformed into a wolf. But it isn’t only her body that has changed; it’s her mind as well. Animal instincts over power her mind and all she wants to do are kill those who have hurt her loved one.
The next thing Rachel remembers is waking up in her room, the faces of the nuns who had raised her looking at her with worried expressions. Images of last night flashing through her head as if they were only nightmares. However there is one fact that shines through the fiction: Davie is dead.
The Mother Superior sits by her bed all day talking with Rachel about what the young teenaged girl is going through. The nun explains how she had nursed Rachel’s real mother back to health after finding her laying in the forest almost dead. The nun hadn’t seen the Werewolf again until the night Rachel had been brought to the monastery. Rachel’s mother had carried her half dead to the nuns’ door. She begged the nuns to take care of her daughter and to keep her safe. When they agreed to take Rachel the baby’s mother ran back into the woods never to return.
At the funeral Rachel expresses her thoughts to Josh. She has found her purpose; it is to avenge those who killed David and to kill those like them.
At first her friend didn’t really understand what Rachel talking. But it all becomes clear when Vincent put an evil gem in Josh’s bag. That afternoon when Josh and his dad came to fix the monastery the gem evolved into a phoenix bursting into flames and attacking the monastery. Sensing the danger Rachel shape shifts into a werewolf to protect her family.
When the battle is over Rachel emerges from the flames more determined than ever that she must kill this enemy before they try to hurt her loved ones anymore. Josh, slightly in shock from the ordeal, offers to help his friend find out who they are and what they want.
So the hunt begins, one of the older nuns knows of a magic book that the monastery has kept over thousands of years. She had never been quite sure what it means but she explains that over time the seal that is protecting the book is breaking.
When Rachel and Josh go to examine the book Rachel sees images that she doesn’t quite understand. Things such as a great flood, fire falling from the heavens, and whole civilizations being consumed by the earth.
A few nights later Rachel is running through the woods. Suddenly she smells something familiar. Memories of the night that change her life came flooding back. Hazy images of David falling limp to the ground and those two other people are playing around in her head. Turning toward the smell Rachel runs, fallowing her nose thought the almost moonless night.
What she finds is slightly shocking; two teenagers standing under the dark night sky, both dressed in black and almost invisible to a human eye. However one is easily distinguishable by her pure white hair stands that stands out in the dark night. Snow’s crystal blue eyes meet Rachel’s as she looks blankly at the girl. Vincent smiles sinisterly at her. He then nodes toward the small girl with him as if giving her permission. With that Snow attack Rachel with human super speed.
The battle rages on, however Rachel doesn’t feel as strong as she normally does when she’s a wolf and is soon over come by Snow. Vincent is soon standing over the beaten up girl. He laughs at her feeble attempts to get up. Baiting her he tells her that his father is coming to kill them all and get the book. He further explains that her family, the pack her mother was from, was the last of its kind. Rachel is now the last werewolf left on earth. He also tells Rachel that werewolves were only made to serve his kind: daemon worshipers. People who serve the devil to gain untold powers, they give their souls to Satan to become like gods. Their meddling at playing gods is the reason people like Rachel and Snow exists. Created to serve these demonic people.
When Josh and his Grandmother find Rachel she is a different person. She is broken, not only her body but her spirit as well.
After her recovery Rachel won’t talk to anyone. Vincent’s words running her in mind. She doesn’t want to be a daemon, she wants to have a choice over her future. Her whole life she had been raised to help others only to find out she was created to destroy all that is good. It’s too much to handle. She wants redemption and revenge.
Despite what her close ones say, she plans on attacking Vincent and his army of demons before they even arrive at the monastery. So sneaking out in the dead of night she runs to meet here family’s killers.
Because of her anger and hate Rachel is unprepared for what happens when she shape shifts. Because of the moonless night and her strength to control her wolf body Rachel loses control of her powers; becoming more wolf than a human. She soon doesn’t even know who she is attacking. The only thing that is driving her is to satisfy then animal within her. And Josh, who fallowed her into the woods, is caught in the cross fire.
Smelling fresh blood on her friends arm caused by one of Vincent’s minions Rachel runs toward the boy bloodlust in her brown eyes, ready to kill. Her teeth sink into Josh’s leg yanking him off his feet. Rachel’s mind is all but gone.
Or that is what Vincent thinks, however when Josh cries out in pain something triggers in Rachel’s mind. Suddenly human memories and emotions come back. However the damage is done, Josh is on the ground bleeding and in pain because of Rachel.
Rachel doesn’t know what do to anymore. She had become a monster and she hurt her closest friend. Even after Josh’s wounds are healed by his Grandmother Rachel can still see Josh broken in front of her because of what she has done.
It seems like all hope is lost, Vincent and his army of demons are coming closer and there doesn’t seem to be any way to stop them. Even thought the nuns have faith, Rachel has given up.
Until Snow appears at the monastery door; at firsts Rachel is ready to kill the one who killed David but the white haired girl begs Rachel to listening to her. Snow wants to be free of Vincent and his father. She wants to have a freewill to chose like Rachel. She didn’t know she had a choice until she had met the other girl. Snow now doesn’t care if she will die helping Rachel, as long as she can save the world maybe she will have a chance in the after life. If there is one for her.
With the help of Snow Rachel and her friends band together and make a plan to seal away the book and save the monastery. However, to have this plan to work Rachel has to shape shift into her wolf from.
It’s up to her to have to courage to use the gift she has and save the ones she loves. She is the only werewolf left and the only one who can do it.
Will she have the strength to do it?
Or will she just turn into a blood thirsty crazed animal?
