For an optimistic person, Hay Lin was pretty realistic when it came to blaming herself for events that weren't in her control. It first started when she believed that her Grandma had betrayed the Guardians and joined with Nerissa. A few years later, after embarking on one of the greatest adventures of all time, one of her closest friends had been captured and turned evil. She hadn't been involved in rescuing her even once, though she did try to stage a rescue attempt-which had been averted due to a certain Man of Steel.
Now, she and everyone she knows are forced to face off against a team of foes who decided to use her little sister as their 'writing paper'...and it was because of that incident as well as the destruction of Sheffield High that she decided she needed a break from anything Guardian/Heatherfield related. So, making sure she had only what was needed for a 3-day stay as well as her now Baby Digimon, Hay Lin used her cape and Folded to Meridian...
Not knowing that moments before the Fold closed, someone snuck in right after her...completely invisible, and virtually undetected.
