Our houseguest has finally settled in, after a fashion. She spends most of her time sleeping at the back of my bed, but she's started coming out to say hi whenever I come in to check on her. She must've decided I wasn't so bad after all, because when I woke up, she was lying beside me, purring away. She's finally taking the food and water I left out for her as well, which is good. Tal and Chester don't like that they have to be kept in the living room and kitchen, but Chester's one of those cats who doesn't like being told where not to go, so he's protesting loudly and trying to open doors at every opportunity. Yeah, Chester can open closed doors. Didn't I mention that?
Picked up a chest infection too last week, which resulted in me having one of my grand mal coughing fits yesterday afternoon. You know, the kind where I'm physically struggling for breath for about ten minutes afterwards? Wound up slouching towards bed mid-afternoon, because of it. It's scary how physically exhausting it can get.
Also, finally got around to reading Dorohedoro properly, and I love it to bits. It's like Tsutomu Nihei doing a take on a slice-of-life comedy, which is every bit as fucked up and wonderful as it sounds. And funny, because the writer/artist, Hayashida Q, used to work with him. I loved her work on the Maken X manga, even if it was cut disasterously short, so reading more of her work is a pleasure. That she's doing something so fantastic is a bonus.
On a related note, an outstanding video someone made for the series. Seriously, cannot rate this video highly enough. Watch it and be amazed, if only from a technical standpoint
