thedish822 and i are leaving friday for europe. the only problem we currently have is that travelocity gave us a bum itinerary where we fly from richmond into laguardia and then fly from newark to manchester england.
the astute reader here will see the glaring problem off the cuff. we have 3.5 hours to land in laguardia, get our baggage (since i'm not sure if that'll get transferred for us) leave the airport, fight rush hour NY city traffic, get to newark, check in again, go through security and get on the plane. i'm VERY skeptical that on the friday before xmas this is a feat that can be done in 3.5 hours by conventional means.
we've tried to call travelocity and continental to switch our richmond flights to take us directly to newark instead of laguardia but through their fuzzy math and logic which i had to talk to them a LONG time to get explained to me, means to change those flights we'd be dropping another 1800 bucks on the trip. so clearly that option is right out.
has anyone had any experience with this? any recommendations?
