[ The screen continues to switch from a live feed to a blank screen. What can be seen between the flashes reveals little. There is a pillar, a few lights, and the ground. Admist the white noise is the sound of a train and a voice. ]
...it took Mother first. Then the countless, the namesless, the faceless. Lives I would take again and again-- rayless, and pathless, and the icy earth/swung blind and blackening in the moonless air -- Took the millions after. Soldiers bloody and broken. People sacrificing their lives for the freedom I promised and had no intention of giving-- happy were those who dwelt within the eye/of the volcanoes.
I would kill them again. All of them. Suicide, genocide, patricide, matricide. Siding with whom? With justice or vengeance? I would kill them and I would kill myself. For this is the way of the kings-- seasonless, herbless, treeless, manless lifeless/a lump of death, a chaos of hard clay.
