For a place that has supposedly kidnapped us, it seems remarkably eager to make us feel as though we are to belong here.

This is some sort of pagan holiday, isn't it?

[recorded a while later, accidentally]

I've met such nice people here, but I haven't been truthful with them...

This sounds similar to a masquerade ball. [Holding back her tongue on a "for commoners" comment.]

Yes, doesn't it? I'm not familiar with this venue, "De Capo's". Is it a reputable place?

[ Auto-pinged. He's careful to keep his tone conversational, deliberate. ]

It's only reasonable for you not to be so open with those you've only just met. We can't be sure who any of these people were or what they did before they arrived. [ And, to make the casual interest seem more authentic, he adds teasingly ] Is the origin going to make you any less inclined to celebrate?

I don't think it's like me at all, Lelouch, to be guarded.

No, of course not. It just seems so frivolous in comparison to the Britannian Imperial holidays.

What's a "holiday"?

Usually it's a celebration held on a specific date, to recognize or commemorate something.

A... "Celebration"? So does that mean that people have fun?

But still, we doesn't belong here.

Yes, Halloween was originally a Pagan holiday.

[ you can tell she's forcing her cheer here ]

And goodness, that's coming up not too far from now...

The party? I hadn't really thought about it...
