Ladies and gentlemen:

My laptop is broken.

That's right, laptop broken. As in, it doesn't turn on. As I haven't the foggiest idea how to troubleshoot hardware, I couldn't tell you what is wrong or how long it will take to fix it. It's also outside warranty... I'm currently looking for a place that repairs Toshiba laptops ( Read more... )

Nope. Doesn't turn on. In the little indicator things, outlet power will light, battery will light, hard drive will not light. I am not optimistic.

Warranty, what warranty? That ended sometime in May or June.

The tickets are better news, though :) Should be a fun night even with a smaller posse ^^

joseph and i are dismayed at this news and cordially offer you use of our laptop if you so wish it... i know it's not the same and stuff but the offer's there... otherwise we can offer our staff discount if you wish to use it. (i think the tech guys at pc world might help with tosh's out of warranty, but i can't remember how much they charge

" jo" typed by joseph... who already knows what to do with the mouse (i might have helped by lifting him up so he could type)

*hug* Actually, the staff discount thing might be very helpful if it turns out it's a better use of money to replace the laptop than fix it. By use of yours I assume you don't actually mean physically leaving it in London with me, so yeah, it's not quite the same, but the thought is appreciated *hug*

Your son's geeking already? Guess it's in the blood ;)

HD death seems like a distinct possibility. Thankfully most of my stuff is backed up, with the exception of a few unsorted mp3s, so while it would be bad, it wouldn't be the end of the world...
