Well, there was no single way Lavi would be able to copy all of the records during the short time it would take Vergil to get here. So instead he focused on making sure he really had everything gathered, moving back and forth in the back room of the shop where he kept the records. He kept things in order in the shop, but the records were scattered all over the place in the room.
He and Bookman never did keep an order on things back in... the Order. Or anywhere else for that matter; it was habit. They didn't have any trouble keeping track of anything anyway. With their good memories they didn't have to worry about that.
But if he would lose it one day...
But no, not thinking about that. He wouldn't lose his memories, definitely not, no matter how tricky the city or whatever was.
Once he had gathered everything together, he sat down and did begin rewriting it, because it wasn't as if he had anything else to really do while waiting.
