[The sound of rain can be heard on the PCD when it clicks on, but it's a little muffled. A hand comes away from the PCD after apparently setting it down, and it's inside, by a bay window (one of the few not-broken windows in the house. Shuichi sits in the broad window sill, not looking his usual smiley self. In fact, he looks...like hell. Like he ran a marathon and then didn't sleep for three days--but that's probably what a lot of people look like about now.
He's been here for six weeks already. 'Do you miss where you came from?' The question has caused a lot of thinking. And there's a small emptiness there now that perhaps the others were filling. It's not that he can't get along on his own. But...somehow, perhaps it was nicer with those people around.
Shuichi leans his chin on his hand and gazes out at the rain.]
I've never given much thought to how a birthday should be spent, but this doesn't seem like a preferable way.
